A perfect opportunity to discover pieces in a more intimate setting, in three places which represent the full range of Lyon’s artistic offer: the Musée Gadagne, the newly-reopened Salle Molière, and the Lyon Opera Amphi.

On his way home, a poor soldier meets the devil, who offers to trade his violin for a magic book that could make him a fortune. The soldier accepts, only to discover that he has lost three years of his life and that his loved ones have forgotten him. Rich but unable to find happiness, he will do anything to get his violin back, even if it means stealing from the devil...
Forced by wartime restrictions, Stravinsky conceived this score along the lines of a traveling theater, with reduced instrumentation. He thus created a work accessible to all, with multiple influences: tango, ragtime, paso doble and even jazz. A music that demands the utmost rhythmic dexterity and perfect symbiosis between the performers.
