With a visual universe as unclassifiable as her music, pianist Naoko Sakata has been ploughing her own rebellious furrow since the age of three, when she naturally took up the piano. Leaving Japan for Sweden, she developed an art of improvisation where musical instinct, between classical, pop and jazz, meets the mystical impulse. After visiting her inner planets (in her Inner Planets album), then making spirits dance (Dancing Spirits album), her latest album Infinity was ranked among the top ten contemporary music albums of 2023. Imagine a stellar encounter between Keith Jarrett, Sun Ra and Hania Rani!
