France’s biggest food festival
In June, the Lyon Street Food Festival is the must-attend event for food, music, culture and festivities in Lyon. More than 38,000 festival-goers attended the last edition, which was held at the former Fagor Brandt factories, after starting its first edition at Les Subsistances in 2016. For its 8th edition in 2024, France's biggest food festival has moved to a new venue: Les Grandes Locos, the new cultural nerve centre of the Lyon metropolitan area. A former SNCF technicentre at La Mulatière, the site is steeped in history and boasts gigantic halls that are the perfect place to celebrate living together and unveil a culinary road trip of the highest calibre.
This unique event showcases culinary influences from around the world in the city of French gastronomy. For four days, hundreds of starred and unstarred chefs, emerging talents and street-food artisans rub shoulders for a unique experience that puts all the senses in the spotlight. There were 120 of them at the last edition!
Anne-Sophie Pic and Thierry Marx have already taken part in previous editions, giving everyone a chance to discover Michelin-starred cuisine in an accessible way, but the big names and new nuggets of Lyon's culinary scene also come together at each edition.
