A musical bric-a-brac, crossing two worlds.
Chimera, the brainchild of ensemble Céladon and Odyssée ensemble & cie, is a bit of all of the above. A musical hodgepodge, it features medieval music as well as improvisations and modern or contemporary compositions by Olivier Messiaen or Zad Moultaka, and shamelessly mixes instruments that have nothing to do with each other.
The animals that make up our chimera feature prominently in the lyrics: lion, nightingale, bear, elephant, donkey, panther, wild boar, snake and even frogs make up a bestiary that is both fantastic and timeless. Horn, medieval flute, vuvuzela, modern and ancient percussion instruments, trombone, musical saw and organetto accompany the counter-tenor's voice, in an atmosphere that is as mystical as it is poetic.
