Near the Subsistances (a "living place for artistic experiences") and the famous mural known as the 'Fresque des Lyonnais', in a tucked-away former brothel from the early twentieth century, the restaurant Chez Pimousse offers diners a warm welcome.
As soon as you step through the restaurant's door, you are wrapped in a warm atmosphere of sharing and good humour. The interior bears the signature of Olga Azocar and Nicolas Mazard, a pair of cobblers and bric-à-brac traders, who created the shop Les Ateliers in Lyon's 2nd district.
Materials and styles are blended with understated subtlety, creating an interior that is a marriage of tradition and novelty, much like the Chef's cuisine.
The raw timber and patinated tables are adorned with pre-war period crockery, art-deco cutlery sets, white cotton serviettes and stylish modern glasses.
Local artisanry is given pride of place, as some of the dishes are served in the creations of talented ceramicists. The colour scheme features a grey polished concrete floor, which contrasts with bright whites and elegant touches of green, to create a feeling of well-being, just like being at home.
