The last remaining Lyon silk manufacturer within the city walls, Brochier Soieries is part of the city's vibrant heritage, heir to a tradition that began in the 16th century: the production of exceptional fabrics in Lyon from natural silk threads.

Since the founding of Maison Brochier in 1890, 4 generations have perpetuated the Lyon silk tradition, combining a deep appreciation for craftsmanship with a keen artistic sensitivity. The Brochier Soieries collection contains over 100,000 textile designs representing all periods of art history, from cave drawings to contemporary art.

As Cédric Brochier, the 4th generation of the family, says: "Today, we live in a globalized world in which people and goods move extremely easily and quickly. It's clear that today, most of the products we wear or use daily come from countries where labor costs are low and the attention paid to compliance with trade laws is questionable.
I HAVE FAITH IN A DIFFERENT VISION.
I live and work in Lyon, a city known worldwide for its expertise in the textile industry, particularly silk, the creativity and quality of its workforce, and its sense of design. I am proud to say that since 1890, our silks have been designed, produced, and entirely finished in France by expert hands who work passionately, respecting the tradition and quality that still characterize Made in France products today."

> All the archive scarves, including Raoul Dufy's textile designs, are still printed in Lyon using the Lyon traditional screen-printing technique, inspired by the manual stencil process. More than 3,000 printing screens bring old designs to life, some of which were created at the beginning of the last century.

> The Jacquard weaving technique is still used to create woven ties and shawls made from Jacquard woven and hand-painted napped velvet in Lyon. These unique pieces are a Lyon tradition that dates back to the mid-19th century in the Loire region, where the weaving mill, which has been awarded the Living Heritage Company (EPV) label, is still located.
> To further embrace modern technical methods, for over 70 years, Brochier Soieries has become the benchmark in the reproduction on silk of works of art, combining traditional techniques with new generations of high-definition digital printing. Working closely with the world's greatest museums—the Musée d'Orsay, Centre Pompidou, MOMA, Guggenheim, and many others—Brochier Soieries prints, in Lyon, scarves and ties by world-renowned artists such as Cézanne, Monet, Dali, Matisse, Botticelli, Kandinsky, and Pollock. And each year, following current exhibitions, the Brochier catalog is expanded to include new museums and artists.
