Having hosted several football matches during the 2024 Olympic Games, Lyon will once again be a host city, this time for the Winter Olympics and Paralympics, which will take place from 1 to 17 February 2030. The Lyon Metropolitan Area, home to the offices of Cojop (the Organising Committee for the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Games), will also host the 'ice sports' events.
The other events will take place in Savoie and Haute-Savoie, as well as in the Hautes-Alpes and the Netherlands for the long-track speed skating events.
Competition venues
Three main competition venues have been selected in the Lyon metropolitan area: the Parc des Expositions in Chassieu, the LDLC Arena (renamed the Arena de Lyon for the Olympic Games) in Décines-Charpieu, and the Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon's 7th arrondissement.
