Music festivals that set the rhythm in Lyon

Nuits Sonores: The French festival that is entirely devoted to electronic and indie music, as well as innovative, visual and digital culture, will take place from 28 May to 1 June 2025.

Nuits de Fourvière: Held in the Roman theatres of Fourvière Hill, this festival brings a touch of magic to Lyon’s summer evenings each year.  We look forward to seeing the artists on stage, in a programme combining drama, dance, circus arts and music, in June and July 2025. 

Woodstower Festival: This “eco-festival” is held at the end of summer on the edge of the lake at Grand Parc de Miribel-Jonage from 28 to 31 August 2025. We look forward to four days of partying to a superb selection of rap and electronic music. 

Jazz à Vienne: While this event is not held in Lyon, it is a major event on the local music scene will take place from 26 June to 11 July 2025.

Events for sports lovers

For those who like to take on a challenge, the Lyon Urban Trail will be held on 30 March 2025 the Lugdunum Roller Contest, for 2 days from 16 to 18 May 2025, the Ultra boucle de la Sarra on 23 and 24 May 2025, and the women’s cancer awareness run Courir pour Elles in 17 and 18 May 2025 at The Grand Parc of Miribel Joange.

This year's major event will of course be EuroGames! This European multisport event dedicated to diversity and inclusion will take place from 23 to 26 July 2025.

Horse riding enthusiasts will be gathering at the next edition of Equita Lyon late October - early November 2025 at Eurexpo.

NordicWalkin'Lyon by Alptis, the event dedicated to walking in an urban environment, will take place in October 2025, while the long-awaited running festival, Run in Lyon, awaits you in the starting-block in October 2025. The year ends in style with the Asics SaintéLyon in December 2025.

Lyon BD Festival will be taking place over the 1st fortnight of June 2025 at various venues across the city.

Lyon Street Food Festival  is back with 4 days of festivities and a world tour of flavours from 26 to 29 June 2025, for just as much pleasure and enjoyment as ever!

The expected Biennale de la Danse, which will be held in September 2025. It will kick off with its Défilé, a grand parade on rue de la République on Sunday 7 September 2025, on the theme of ‘Recycled dances’!

The Lumière Festival will be putting the spotlight on Lyon, the cradle of cinema, for a whole week of classic films, in the presence of international stars of the silver screen, from 11 to 19 October 2025.

The Marché de la Mode Vintage (Vintage Fashion Market) invites fashion addicts and bargain hunters in March and late September - early October 2025 at La Sucrière.

The Peinture Fraîche Festival (street art) returns in October 2025 to bring colour to the heart of autumn!

The Silk in Lyon festival will offer a chance to discover French-made fabrics and products, from 20 to 23 November 2025 at the Palais de la Bourse in Lyon.

Last, but certainly not least, Lyon’s famous Fête des Lumières (Festival of Lights) at the beginning of December 2025. 4 nights to see the city differently!
