Travelling to and around Lyon

Lyon is a genuine international hub that’s easy to travel to and around

Once you’re here, the city has very good transport links via TCL (Transports en Commun Lyonnais, i.e., Lyon public transport). The TCL card is cheaper for under 25s and includes buses, trams, metros, and funicular railways.  

Prefer the outdoors? Velo’v bikes are available all across the city and you can make the most of a cut-price subscription. Exploring Lyon by bike also means doing your bit for the planet!

Studying in Lyon

Lyon is recognised as France’s second city for higher education. The quality and quantity of courses on offer is outstanding! There’s Lyon University and its campuses, a range of grandes écoles  (i.e., higher education establishments which admit students on the basis of competitive exams), and plenty of other educational facilities.

In terms of culture, check out the Carte Musées museum card for young people from 18 to 25 inclusive, which gives you access to six municipal museums in Lyon for 1 year, for €7.
