Last updated date : 26/10/2024
The Cathedral of Lyon : a gem to decipher. The architecture, the stained-glass windows and their light, the liturgical furniture, the paintings, the sacred music... so many things bear witness to the history of this place since the 12th century.
Even though the cathedral suffered from damage during religious wars and the French Revolution, restorations have been conducted and made the bulding look a splendid as it did before. Nowadays, it is particulary luminous thanks to its bright stones and its high windows. It enables everyone to enjoy the well-adjusted dimensions of the bulding and, of course, its a artistic works of art : paintings, sculptures, furniture, organs, stained-glass windows....
The team of tour guides of the cathedral welcomes people from Lyon and abroad, who have the faith or not, everyday (except Monday), in order to make you discover the treasures of the cathedral.
