With close to 50 car parks, both public and private, 22 of which are located at historic sites throughout Lyon, the city provides practical and secure parking solutions. Some car parks are so lovely that people appreciate them as a work of art!
Car parks in Lyon
Over 30 covered car parks
In addition to the numerous on-street parking spaces, there are around 30 secure car parks, managed by the local public company Lyon Parc Auto, located throughout the city and particularly on the Presqu’île de Lyon. To avoid unnecessary detours, you can check the number of spaces available in a car park in real time on the LPA Mobilités website (in French).
Good plan
You can book your place in advance, before your arrival, to be guaranteed a place and priority access! You have two options:
- Book on the website of LPA car parks.
- Thanks to the LPA&CO mobile application, you can enter the car parks using your smartphone by using the lane reserved for subscribers, thus benefiting from priority entry. The application also allows you to find a private parking space (other than in traditional car parks) and to reserve it at the best price, for the duration of your choice. The application currently lists 135 car parks available for reservation. The list of car parks available for reservation is regularly updated.
Prices
- The weekend rate applies from Friday to Monday noon.
- Price for a weekend: between €40 and 50 depending on the car park (ex: République/50€ - Fosse aux Ours/40€).
- Reservation: the reservation and cancellation fee is 1.50 euros including VAT.

Park-and-Ride facilities
Do you want to get to the city center without taking the car? It's possible with the 23 park-and-ride facilities Lyon's public transport network (TCL) ! How does it work? When you arrive in Lyon, choose the park-and-ride lot where you want to park. After parking your car, leave by metro, tramway or bus. To leave the parking lot, use your TCL transport ticket (ticket or travel card). Please note: parking is prohibited at night and the parking lots are reserved for TCL network customers only.

Street parking
You can opt for on-street parking using parking meters. Please note that, since 4 June 2024, the charge has been adjusted to reflect the overall impact of vehicles on the environment and their use of public space. This means that the larger and more polluting a vehicle is, the higher the parking charge will be. To find out which rate applies to your vehicle, try the online simulator on the City of Lyon’s website (in French).
Whilst parking meters are installed throughout the city, you can also pay for your parking directly via your smartphone using the Easy Park and Pay by Phone apps, which are available in Lyon.
