The church of Saint-Bruno les Chartreux is a historical monument, a jewel of Baroque art of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, designed as the church of the former Carthusian monastery of Lyon, known as the Chartreuse du Lys Saint-Esprit. It stands proudly on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse.

Its architectural ensemble as well as its numerous works of art (stalls, lectern, paintings, statues) have undergone a full restoration, now completed after twenty years of work.

The highlight of the visit is the canopy (baldachin) above the main altar, unique in the world for its drapery in real stuccoed fabric.
The guided tour allows you to discover the church but also the cloisters and the chapter house of the former Carthusian monastery.
