Blending hip-hop and dabkeh, Amir Sabra transforms the party into a space for remembrance and resistance.
A Palestinian dancer and choreographer now based in Dublin, Amir Sabra grew up in a refugee camp near Nablus, in the West Bank, developing a deeply sensitive perspective on the resilience of the body. As co-founder of the Stereo48 collective and co-choreographer of *Badke (remix)*, performed on the same evening in the Main Auditorium, he has developed a style that blends hip hop with dabkeh, a folk dance from the Levant. With *Within This Party*, he transforms the stage into a shared space of celebration, where familiar gestures, glances and impulses bring the audience together around a shared energy. Through joy and movement, the piece evokes the echo of a collective history: dancing to stay alive, to remain standing.
