A hilarious and explosive Cambodian circus show – generous and inventive.
Originally an NGO working in the fields of education and culture, Phare Circus has become one of Cambodia’s most innovative companies and social organisations, with internationally acclaimed shows. Blending circus, theatre, music and dance, Cambodian artists tell stories drawn from their traditions or current affairs. For this production, Phare Circus has collaborated with Abdeliazide Senhadji, a leading figure from the Collectif XY. From breathtaking acrobatics to incredible contortions, whether on a Chinese pole or in an aerial hoop, the young performers express, with humour and self-deprecation, the cultural clashes between East and West. Bucking the trend of a world under strain, this show offers a ray of light, where living together is a given.
