Placebo

The iconic alternative rock band will perform songs from their first two cult albums, “Placebo” and “Without You I’m Nothing,” live on stage. A second anniversary gift: Placebo announces “Placebo RE:CREATED,” a reimagining of the album that introduced them to the world in 1996. The album will be released on June 19, 2026, via Elevator Lady Ltd and AWAL.

When Placebo first emerged in 1996, the band’s aesthetic and lyrical universe upended expectations within British rock culture. Their visual identity—deliberately ambiguous, glamorous, and provocative—challenged traditional notions of gender and masculinity at a time when such discussions rarely entered the mainstream discourse. In doing so, Placebo opened up space for a different kind of alternative voice, one that deeply resonated with an audience that felt outside the cultural mainstream, and which is still cited as a reference by many of their contemporaries today.
