The MAM is giving its collections a makeover !
The museum now presents 300 exhibits, including 200 new puppets and props. 50% of the items come from the MAM’s collections, including new acquisitions from 2026, whilst 50% are on loan from contemporary companies and partner institutions.
You can explore nine new artistic worlds: Hold Up! (Nancy) | Daniel Streble (Lyon) | Gingolph Gateau (Troyes) | Gorgomar (Nice) | Ivoire Marionnettes (Abatta Village, Ivory Coast) | Les décintrés - en costume - (Nurieux-Volognat) | Marizibill (Fontenay-sous-Bois) | Théâtre de Romette-Johanny Bert (Clermont-Ferrand) | Toutito teatro (Cherbourg-en-Cotentin). Don’t miss the area dedicated to the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood and the room showcasing the behind-the-scenes process of creating a show: Les Embiernes commencent by Emilie Valantin, created for the bicentenary of Guignol in 2008.
The MAM’s exhibition design is always structured around four key questions: what is a puppet? Where does it come from? What is it used for? How is it performed?
