If you’re a film lover, then a visit to the Musée Cinéma et Miniature (Cinema and Miniature Museum) is a must! Housed in a magnificent Renaissance building on the main street of Vieux-Lyon (Old Lyon), the museum welcomes visitors to explore the world of cinema. Come and discover sets and props used to shoot world-famous films, as well as miniature scenes displayed on the top floor.
What is the Musée Cinéma et Miniature?
In the heart of Vieux-Lyon, the Cinema and Miniature Museum houses a unique collection of cinema exhibits that appeared in feature-length films such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Alien, Jurassic Park or Terminator 2. Visitors are amazed by the miniature creations of Dan Ohlmann and other artists, which are packed with detail and full of poetry.

With its permanent exhibition space covering 2000 sq. m, as well as several large temporary exhibition rooms, the museum takes visitors on an immersive journey through more than a century of technological and stylistic developments.

The miniature trail
On the top floor, you can admire the complete collection of Dan Ohlmann’s miniature scenes: faithful reproductions of living spaces to a scale of 1:12. These incredibly realistic micro-sets are shown alongside more than 1,000 masterpieces executed with skill and patience by miniature artists from around the world. These fantastic tiny creations show an impressive level of detail and exude poetic atmospheres.
