Church of Saint-Bruno les Chartreux, Lyon, a jewel of Baroque art A masterpiece of Baroque art now completely restored, Saint-Bruno’s church in Lyon contains many listed works of art. Among them, the canopy (baldachin), above the main altar, is unique in the world for its drapery in real stuccoed fabric.
Its architectural ensemble as well as its numerous works of art (stalls, lectern, paintings, statues) have undergone a full restoration, now completed after twenty years of work.
The highlight of the visit is the canopy (baldachin) above the main altar, unique in the world for its drapery in real stuccoed fabric.
The guided tour allows you to discover the church but also the cloisters and the chapter house of the former Carthusian monastery.
