Spend two hours on the Croix-Rousse plateau with your sommelier to experience the neighbourhood just like a local, from the butcher’s to the cheese shop, via the pink praline, and on to a wine-tasting workshop at Cave Tabareau focusing on Rhône wines.
Meet at the Gros Caillou for panoramic views of the city, then we’ll cross the Place de la Croix-Rousse and the Grande Rue, the village’s old high street. Along the way, your sommelier will explain each Lyon speciality as you taste it.
You’ll choose your charcuterie at La Boucherie, sample the famous pink praline at Maison Pralus and select cheeses at La Fromagerie, venturing off the main street into the quiet alleyways of the plateau. The experience concludes at Cave Tabareau, on Place Tabareau, with a genuine wine-tasting workshop: you’ll learn how to look at, smell and taste a selection of wines from the Rhône Valley, understand their terroir and pair them with your chosen produce.
You’ll leave as a true expert on the capital of gastronomy!
