Lastly, in poor weather, Park Events in Vénissieux has an indoor kart racing track, bowling lanes and a laser game.

There are three events in the Portes du Sud that are worth going out of your way for. At the beginning of the year, the Saint-Fons Jazz Festival has an excellent line-up of artists. In September, cycling enthusiasts are in for a treat with the Vénissieux Cycling Grand Prix at Parc de Parilly. There is also the Foulée Vénissiane, which is open to all types of cyclists, with various routes beginning at Parc de Parilly.
