Sledging in Lyon
Piste de la Sarra, in Lyon’s 5th district, is the ideal place to go sledging when it snows. And yes, it’s right in the centre of Lyon ! Nothing could be simpler: with your sledge under your arm, take the Funicular line F2 up to Fourvière, and then walk up Montée Nicolas-de-Lange to Piste de la Sarra, a former ski slope that is 300 meters long and has a 20% slope.
Sledging around Lyon
15 minutes from Lyon :
With their rolling hills, the Monts d’Or also offer great places for kids to have fun on the snow ! Set course for Mont-Thou, Mont-Verdun or Mont-Cindre... And don’t forget to bring all your gear !
Le Pilat, 1 hour and 10 minutes from Lyon :
The resort Le Bessat, in the department of the Loire, is perfect for a day’s sledging, ski touring or snowshoe hiking. For unplanned outings, you will find equipment available to hire there.

Les Plans d’Hotonnes on the Plateau du Retord, 1 hour and 20 minutes from Lyon :
In the department of Ain, the resort Les Plans d’Hotonnes has a free and accessible sledging slope. The equipment hire shops are currently open, as are the resort’s three restaurants, which sell food to take away on Wednesdays and weekends.
Accessible by car from Lyon via the A42.
