The Medieval Village of Pérouges and the Bugey Region

Visiting the medieval village of Pérouges, 40km north-east of Lyon, named one of the most beautiful villages in France by the ‘Plus Beaux Villages de France’ association, is like stepping back in time. You’ll be amazed by this fantastically well-preserved former weavers’ town, with its narrow cobbled alleys polished smooth by the centuries, its homes clad with stones and bricks... and its famous galette.
