This production takes as its starting point the OFPRA interview — the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons — a decisive moment in the journey of exiles, where every account is met with doubt and suspicion. Two women dance, respond and question. Nicolas Barry brings to the stage the institutional violence of a system which, under the guise of welcoming refugees, perpetuates exclusion. Here, every word carries weight, every gesture counts. Through a question-and-answer structure applied to both text and movement, Sophie Billon and Nangaline Gomis achieve a remarkable feat: conveying a dense text whilst linking together intense choreographic sequences, out of sync with their lines, either in unison or in counterpoint, to the point of vertigo.
