Lyon Vintage Fashion Market: what's the concept?

A pioneer among vintage fairs in France, the Marché de la Mode Vintage (or MMV to those in the know) was launched in Lyon in March 2001 on the initiative of the Université de la Mode. At the time, thrift stores and flea markets were not yet booming, but students sensed the spirit of the times and seized on the second-hand trend. Supported by the Lyon Metropolitan Area and the City of Lyon, among others, this vintage fair has been making waves in France and Europe for over 30 years.

What to find at the Lyon Vintage Fashion Market?

A luxury coat, a precious piece of jewelry, a leather jacket, embroidered shirts, antique English tableware, vintage vinyl records, a vintage Danish sideboard... At recent editions, some 180 fashion and decor merchants who have mastered the art of vintage were present at each event! There was something for all ages, budgets, and styles.

A whole series of events punctuate the weekend. Fashion shows, creative workshops, clothing drives, photo calls, DJ sets, concerts, tattoo stands, bag repair services... the program varies from year to year, but always has a central theme that serves as a common thread. Students from fashion schools take part in the festivities.

The next edition of the Vintage Fashion Market

The 2026 Vintage Fashion Market will take place on March 7 and 8 for an anniversary edition (30 years is something to celebrate) with luxury, upcycled, and second-hand selections, offering responsible and high-end alternatives, as well as a Vintage Food Court, perfect for a gourmet break in a retro atmosphere.
