This colourful Cuban night explores this heritage, revisited from generation to generation. To open the evening, violinist and singer Yilian Cañizares will perform her swaying and delicately sophisticated songs in a trio. Next up is legendary guitarist Eliades Ochoa, a key figure in the Buena Vista Social Club. Wearing his trademark Stetson hat, the 80-year-old singer draws on older styles (trova and guaracha) to perform a warm repertoire, where his weathered voice works wonders. Finally, beware, one legend can hide another: the Cuban music train is coming! This is the nickname of Los Van Van, an iconic orchestra founded in 1969 and now on the road to international success, with more than thirty albums to their name, incorporating funk and rock influences into Afro-Cuban rhythms.
