Darkside was born in 2011, just as Nicolas Jaar's solo career was about to take off, and found a unique common ground between the American-Chilean musician's electronic expertise and Dave Harrington's free guitar playing, which came from the most experimental fringes of the New York jazz scene. The release in 2025 of Darkside's third album, the impressive Nothing, marked the arrival of drummer Tlacael Esparza and a flight into unknown territory where dub, funk, progressive rock, pop, jazz and house mix together, as if on a slow-motion roller coaster.
