Chassol and Mathieu Edward in concert

Email Site web Booking
Inspired by artists ranging from Steve Reich to Miles Davis and Magma, Christophe Chassol is a French composer, director, and musician with an unclassifiable style. Whether on television or in film, in his performances or in each of his films/albums, his music relies on a unique compositional method he calls "ultrascore": a virtuoso and moving harmonization of reality where the writing develops from recorded and filmed sequences.

Accompanied on stage by video and his drummer Matthieu Edward, Chassol opens his travel journal and revisits the places that have marked his musical journey: the United States with Nola Chérie, India with Indiamore, Martinique with Big Sun, Brussels with Chou and Japan with his film Ludi, freely inspired by Hermann Hesse's The Glass Bead Game.
