Thursdays are gallery days. This 1 hour 45 minute excursion immerses you in two emblematic venues of the Lumière Institute, both located on Rue du Premier-Film: the museum and its permanent collection, and the gallery with its temporary exhibitions.
Fridays in July: Museum Workshop – 2 hours
On Fridays July 10, 17, 24, and 31, enjoy our Museum Workshops: a combined ticket including a one-hour guided museum tour followed by a workshop led by our team to explore the world of cinema.
Three themes will be offered:
Friday, July 10 and 24: Journey Through the History of Cinema. From 1895 to the present day, cinema has undergone major technical revolutions that profoundly transformed films and audiences: the arrival of sound, colour, 3D, digital technology, and more. Discover the evolution of cinema from the Lumière brothers to Avatar.
Single ticket for the workshop only – 1 hour – €6 for everyone.
Friday, July 17 and 31: Discovering Animated Cinema. Animation predates cinema itself and has constantly evolved and reinvented itself. Thanks to Disney, Pixar, and Studio Ghibli, animated films have captivated audiences by transporting them into extraordinary worlds. This workshop explores the long history of animation, its techniques, and its evolution through numerous film excerpts, combining beloved classics and lesser-known works.
Single ticket for the workshop only – 1 hour – €6 for everyone.
Discovering the Monplaisir District: Guided Tour – 1 hour 30 minutes
Our guide will introduce you to this historic district, a true centre of economic and social development during the 19th and 20th centuries. As you explore the area surrounding Rue du Premier-Film, you will encounter emblematic figures and landmarks. This walk offers an immersion into both a vibrant past and an ever-evolving present.
