Sommerkino, the German film festival in Lyon 2
Every year, the Sommerkino festival (literally 'summer cinema' in German) marks the start of the open-air cinema season on the forecourt of the Basilica of Ainay. In 2026, the festival will celebrate its 15^(th) anniversary with a film concert on 1 July. For the event, the silent horror film Nosferatu (1922) will be set to music. This will be followed by the films Stiller (2025), A German Childhood: Amrum Island (2025) and Peacock (2024) on the evenings of 2–4 July. All films will be screened in German with French subtitles.
