A quality label promoting local expertise

Are you visiting Lyon and looking to bring back a locally made souvenir? If so, keep an eye out for the quality label ‘Fabriqué à Lyon et ses alentours’!
Nearly 200 products bear the label, ranging from clothing and accessories to food, manufactured products, decorative items and handicraft objects.

Criteria

The quality label is awarded on the basis of several factors:

local credentials: the main steps in the production process must be located within a radius of 20 kilometres around Place Bellecour (Lyon city centre).
origin of raw materials: candidates for certification must demonstrate that they have pursued a responsible and local approach to sourcing raw materials.
proven expertise: other factors taken into account include the remarkable character of a product, its representativeness of the city of Lyon and its originality.
