Lyon is not the only city in the region looking forward to receiving Olympic athletes, as Saint-Étienne (Geoffroy-Guichard stadium) will also be a host city for six pool matches: three in the men’s and three in the women’s competition, including the French women's national team on 28 July.
To get to the stadium from Lyon, it’s just under an hour’s train journey from Lyon Part-Dieu station, followed by a 15-minute journey on the T3 tramway from Saint-Étienne Châteaucreux railway station.
