Welcome to the home of Pauline Jaricot, a leading figure in 19th-century Lyon! Born into a family of silk merchants, she left her middle-class background to live amongst the poorest members of society. She contributed to the Catholic missionary revival, notably by founding the Society for the Propagation of the Faith to raise funds and support the mission.

In 1832, Pauline acquired the Maison de Lorette, formerly known as the Maison Breda. Situated below Fourvière Hill, its terraces offer views of Lyon and the Alps. From this house, Pauline Jaricot and her companions witnessed the Canuts’ revolts.

Owned by the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), the House of Lorette, listed as a Historic Monument, was restored in the early 2000s. Among the buildings on the site, Pauline Jaricot had a chapel built dedicated to Saint Philomena. A place of remembrance, prayer and mission, the house and chapel are open to the public. It hosts exhibitions and organises special events: Heritage Days, the Festival of Lights, celebrations in honour of Pauline Jaricot (etc.).
