Musco, located in a designer building in Limonest, is now open to the public. A name full of aromatic promise for an equally aromatic museum-manufacturing site entirely devoted to Chocolate!
Richard Sève is one of the few French Master Craftsmen and Chocolatiers to be involved in the chocolate-making process from "bean to bar" (that is from the moment the cocoa beans are selected, to the production of the chocolates few of us can resist!). He is also a collector, and all the objects he has brought back from his travels are exhibited here at Musco.
The museum warmly invites all visitors to discover this lengthy process, which begins in the chocolate plantation and ends with the finished product, by following each stage of this traditional and skilled craft.
Musco is also devoted to discovery and experimentation: one step is all that is required to take you from tasting to cooking. The museum invites you to take this step thanks to theme-based exhibitions aimed at developing your knowledge on the origins of cocoa, but also through on-site chocolate confectionery classes that teach you how to appreciate the many flavours or to cook with chocolate.
At the end of the tour, once you have learned all there is to know about the origins, properties and flavours, you’ll have a chance to test your taste-buds and stock up in the store.
