Guided tours Vieux-Lyon
Tour proposed by Cybèle

Anne and the secret printing works

“Our story begins during the reign of King Francis I, when the city of Lyon was the capital of printing. One day, the young Anne found herself unwittingly caught up in a terrible settling of scores between powerful local figures. To find a way out, she would have to use all her imagination and, above all, her greatest talent: drawing.”

Follow the storyteller-guide through the traboules (hidden passageways) of the Vieux-Lyon district as he tells of the incredible adventure of young Anne and her passion for printing and art. This adventure offers an opportunity to discover Renaissance-era Lyon, major local figures of the sixteenth century and the magic of Old Lyon. Emotions and suspense are guaranteed!

While the story is fictional, it is based on historical facts and includes historical figures. This tour is recommended for children aged ten years and above, and is ideal for teenagers and all those who remain children at heart!

The black teeth industry

At the end of the 15th century, Lyon was the third largest printing capital in Europe. “Black teeth” was the name given to the lead letters used in the Gutenberg presses in the workshops on Rue Mercière and along the banks of the Saône.
