Ahoy there!
On leaving the Confluence Marina, hire your boat without a permit (very easy to operate) with Cap Confluent and you will sail up the Saône.Following a quick briefing on the navigation rules and the boat’s controls , you will be able to discover Lyon from the water, using your presentation booklet.
You will first sail past Old Lyon, followed by the Fourvière and Croix-Rousse hills and then the Subsistances and Vaise, all the way to the Ile Barbe. Continue North as far as the Ile Roy, another small island, which is less developed and a sanctuary for numerous beavers.
This route allows you to enjoy the urban banks of the Saône before discovering a Saône with far greener shores, in a natural environment on the edge of the city.
Now it’s time to return to the Confluence. Exploring the river heritage and the simple enjoyment of being on the Saône give you the feeling of discovering Lyon in a different way.

Île Barbe
Insula Barbara (Barbarian's Island) on the Saône was formerly inhabited by druids and Christians. An abbey was founded there during the 5th century BC. It is now a very pleasant place to take a stroll in a green and leafy medieval setting.
