Delicious food and culture for the whole family
This themed tour combines history and food to explore Lyon in a different way. As you make your way along the route, you will learn how Lyon has built its international reputation. Find your guide on Place Saint-Jean. You will discover the medieval buildings and authentic charm of the Renaissance architecture in Lyon’s oldest district.
The first morning break will offer a chance to taste a local speciality featuring pralines, Lyon’s famous pink sweet made with sugar-coated almonds.
Next, the guide will take you to Les Halles Paul-Bocuse, known as the ‘ventre de Lyon’ (stomach of Lyon), an indoor food market where you will find the best of Lyon’s gastronomy. Here, you can taste delicious local specialities, including the famous mâchon, a Lyonnais snack that used to be served to the city’s canuts (former silk workers).
In between learning about the city’s history, you can enjoy delicious tastings of local produce, including pralines (sugar-coated almonds), charcuterie, cheese and chocolate.
The tastings vary with the seasons, but you’re guaranteed a delicious time whenever you come!
